    Set up your file at the flat size with 3mm bleed, as one PDF with two pages: outside first, then inside. Keep text and logos 5mm clear of every fold line.

    Why panels differOn a C-fold, the panel that tucks inside is a couple of millimetres narrower so it doesn't buckle. Use a proper template, or ask us and we'll set the panels for you.

    Six things to get right on a folded leaflet.

    Set up at the flat size

    Design at the flat sheet size with 3mm bleed: A4 flat for a 6pp DL, 444 × 210mm for a 6pp A5. Not the folded size.

    Outside first

    One PDF, two pages: the outside (cover, back, flap) first, then the inside.

    Keep clear of folds

    Text and logos 5mm clear of every fold line, and 3mm inside the trim. Images can cross a fold, words shouldn't.

    Panel widths

    On a C-fold the inside flap is slightly narrower so it tucks in cleanly. Use a template or ask us to set the panels.

    Resolution

    300dpi at full size, original images only.

    Flatten transparency

    Flatten before you export, and keep type above 6pt.

    Questions.

    What's the difference between flat size and folded size?

    The flat size is the sheet we print on; the folded size is what you hand out. An A4 sheet folded twice becomes a 6pp DL. Always design at the flat size.

    What do 4pp and 6pp mean?

    pp is printed pages: panels. One fold makes 4 panels (4pp), two folds make 6 (6pp). Each side of each panel is a page you can design.

    Which fold should I choose?

    Half fold for programmes and short menus. C-fold for menus and service brochures that open like a book. Z-fold for anything read in order: steps, timelines, maps.

    Which flat size makes which leaflet?

    A3 to 4pp A4; A4 to 4pp A5 or 6pp DL; A5 to 4pp A6; 198 × 210mm to 4pp DL; 444 × 210mm to 6pp A5.

    Why aren't my panels all the same width?

    On a C-fold, the panel that tucks inside is a little narrower so it folds flat without buckling. Use a template, or ask and we'll set the panels for you.

    Which paper stock should I choose?

    150gsm silk for handouts and drops, 250gsm for menus that get handled, 350gsm for premium and stiff (we crease it before folding), uncoated if people write on it.

    What quantities can I order, and what do they cost?

    100, 250, 500, 1,000, 2,500 or 5,000, from £69. The cost per leaflet drops as the run grows. More than 5,000, or a fold we don't list? Email hello@rapidprintpro.com.

    Is the folding included?

    Yes. They're printed, creased where needed and folded in SE1, and arrive ready to hand out.

    Is there VAT on folded leaflets?

    No. Printed leaflets are zero-rated in the UK, so the price you see is the price you pay. Delivery is charged separately.

    When will I get them?

    Order by 3pm, Monday to Friday, and they're printed the same day. Then:
