A printed face, a core that gives it its stiffness, and a back. Change the core and you change the board.

Core 1 · 5mm foam board

Foam. Light as anything.

5mm · indoors · the default

A polystyrene foam core, full of tiny closed bubbles, between two smooth paper faces. Easy to carry, hang or prop. Mounted posters, exhibition panels, menus on the wall.

Core 2 · 10mm foam board

Twice the foam. Stands up straight.

10mm · indoors · for easels

The same foam, twice as thick. It won't bow on an easel, which is why it's the board for welcome signs, seating plans and big A0 panels.

Core 3 · 10mm honeycomb

Honeycomb. All paper.

10mm · indoors · the eco board

A white paper face, a brown kraft honeycomb core, a white back. Stiff, light, and it goes in the paper recycling after the event.

Core 4 · 4mm correx

Correx. Built for rain.

4mm · outdoors · short term

Fluted plastic: two skins held apart by ribs, so it's waterproof and nearly weightless. The estate agent board. Cable tie it to railings or slide it onto a stake.

Signs that stand up.

A poster needs a wall. A board doesn't. Put it on an easel, cable tie it to a railing, screw it to a gate or prop it in a window, and it holds its shape.

Six things to get right on a board.

One PDF, at size

Send a PDF at the board size: an A1 board is 594 × 841mm. JPEG and PNG are fine for photos. One page per design.

Bleed and safe area

Run backgrounds 3mm past the edge on every side, no crop marks. Keep text and logos 5mm in from the trim; on A1 and A0 give it 15mm.

Resolution

300dpi at A3 and A2, 150dpi at full size for A1 and A0. Screenshots and WhatsApp images will look soft at board size.

Text size

Nothing under 12pt. On an A0 board the headline wants to be 60pt or bigger. Signs are read from metres away, so short and big beats long and small.

Colour

CMYK is safest. RGB prints fine, but neon greens and electric blues come out a touch duller. Flatten transparency before you export.

Holes and stakes

Planning to drill holes or slide it onto a stake? Keep anything important at least 30mm from the edge where the fixings go.

Can I get boards the same day?

Yes. Order by 3pm, Monday to Friday, and your boards are printed and cut today. Collect free from 27 Tabard Street, SE1 4LA, have them couriered across London (arrives same day, £45), or DPD next working day from £6.99.

Which board for outside?

Correx for weeks to a few months: estate agent boards, events, campaigns. Solid core for months to years: wayfinding, site and car park signs. Foam board and honeycomb are for indoors.

Can foam board go outside?

For one dry day, maybe. Rain and sun make it bow and the paper face lifts. If there's any chance of weather, use correx or solid core.

5mm or 10mm foam?

5mm for anything hung on a wall or under A1 on an easel. 10mm for A1 and A0 on an easel, where 5mm can start to bow over a long day.

What is honeycomb board?

A white paper face, a brown kraft paper honeycomb core and a white back. It's stiff for its weight and made entirely of paper, so it goes in paper recycling after use. Keep it dry.

How do I put them up?

Foam and honeycomb: sticky pads, Velcro or an easel. Correx: cable ties through the flutes, or slide it onto a stake. Solid core: screws or cable ties through holes you drill. This product doesn't include holes, eyelets or stands.

What sizes can you do?

A3, A2, A1 and A0 on the configurator, portrait or landscape. Other sizes up to 2400 × 1500mm by email: hello@rapidprintpro.com.

Why is correx cheaper?

It's the lightest board and the quickest to run. For one-off A1 and A0 boards it's the cheapest option here, and it's the one that copes with rain.

Do you print posters to mount myself?

Yes, posters go A4 to A0 on photo satin. But a board printed here arrives flat and ready, with no bubbles to smooth out.

Can I order 50 or more?

The configurator goes to 25. For bigger runs email hello@rapidprintpro.com with the size, board and quantity.

No artwork. Can you design it?

Yes. Send the words, your logo and any photos to hello@rapidprintpro.com and we'll lay it out and send a proof before printing.

Are prices ex VAT?

Yes. 20% VAT is added at checkout. The price box at the top shows both, plus the delivery you've picked.
